The Philadelphia Glider Council is a member owned and operated non-profit club of roughly 100 men, women, kids, and families drawn from all walks of life who are bound together by the love of soaring flight. We own a beautiful 125-acre private turf gliderport in Hilltown, PA (Bucks County) devoted exclusively to soaring. Our longest runway is approximately 3,000 feet long. In addition to the field itself we have hangars for the tow planes and club gliders, private glider hangars, a tree shaded picnic grove, and field maintenance equipment. We are excited to announce that next season we will have a beautiful 2-story clubhouse built; featuring a full kitchen, front deck overlooking the field, lavatory and shower facilities, lounge, and a large meeting room suitable for special events. Our old clubhouse will be re-purposed to become the club's workshop.
(The video on this page was made by a member of a radio-control airplane club that had joined us for a special open-house event. He gives a pretty good description of the club but re-names us a bit... a forgivable error in light of his nice review of the day.)
